Last April 27-28, 2017, our President, Mr. Jose I. Cadiz Jr, and General Manager, Ms. Lynn T Punsalan., attended the 2017 Philippine Finance Association (PFA) National Convention held in Camp John Hay Conference Hall, Forest Lodge.  The event’s main program was entitled “New Directions:  Charting a Course for Philippine Finance in this Rapidly Evolving Market Environment” and invited the likes of Secretary Ramon M. Lopez – DTI Secretary and Chairperson Teresita J. Herbosa – Securities and Exchange Commission as speakers.   The occasion also welcomed the new members of PFA which included Encore Leasing & Finance Corp and other financing and credit companies.  Notable highlights of the event were the speech of Chairperson Teresita J. Herbosa as she talked about the incoming SEC regulations and how financing companies should adapt its lending policies to millenials and Mr. Romualdo V. Murcia III’s (Partner in Punongbayan and Araullo) talk about the latest developments in the International Financial Reporting Standards 9 (IFRS) which will take effect on 2018. The event provided the leaders of the different financing companies a venue for an interchange of ideas and also gave the top management of Encore the tools and instruments needed to be a successful financing company.
